Talk, then get on with it
Hold to talk and release to paste, or use Keep Talking between thoughts. Set your own hotkeys and pick from four small visualizers that get out of your way.
Keep speech on your Mac
Start with Apple Speech or download Parakeet, Moonshine or Whisper. Recognition stays local. Model downloads are optional and have their own licenses.
Open source, for the people
Use it, change it, share it. Murmur is GPLv3: distributed forks must provide source and keep the same freedoms for the people receiving them. Selling copies is allowed.

Free and open source under GPLv3. Version 0.2.4. Requires macOS 26+ and Apple Silicon.
Before you start talking.
Murmur 0.2.4 runs on Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later. The download is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized. Open the DMG and drag Murmur into Applications.
Allow microphone access to dictate and Accessibility access to type into other apps. Hold Control–Option–Space to talk, then release to paste. Keep Talking uses Control–Option–D. Murmur never presses Enter or sends a message for you.
Model weights download separately and keep their own licenses. This is an early release; remaining hands-on checks are documented.
